Loveys

I have made quite a few crochet loveys. I used to love making them in public transports since it's very repetitive and don't require much thought.

I have given them all away, to people who had kids or babies, they're more useful that way!

I find that they work well with thin cotton yarn (I think I used a 2,5 mm crochet hook most of the time). When making handmade items for babies, it's also very important to make sure the parts are well attached and that it doesn't have small parts like safety eyes. Thats why all of my loveys have embroidered eyes. Safety eyes (and other similar items) are a choking risks for kids under 3, so be careful!

This is the first lovey I made, from the Sleepy Baby Loveys pattern from Theodore and Rose. I found them so cute and decided to try.

This second lovey was made for a coworker who was expecting. She loved foxes and told me she would love a fox toy for her baby. This one has a 'star' blanket instead of a simple square and I think it makes it extra cute.

The coworker told me it became her son's favorite stuffie and I couldn't be more happy about it!
